The Mansfield Symphony Youth Strings will present “A Knight’s Journey,” the Fall Concert of the 2019-2020 Mechanics Bank Education Series on Sunday, November 10 at 3:00 PM at the Mansfield Senior High School Auditorium. Under the direction of Anthony Springer (pictured), the program will feature both classical and contemporary repertoire ending with OSU’s Hang On Sloopy.

Anthony Springer is the orchestra director at Mount Vernon City Schools and has over fifteen years of string education experience. He holds a Master of Music Education from Kent State University and a Bachelor of Music Education from The College of Wooster. Mr. Springer is an active cellist and studied under Jane Katsuyama of the Dayton Philharmonic and Madalena Burle Marx of the Akron Symphony. He has performed with several orchestras including the Tuscarawas Philharmonic, Hamilton-Fairfield Symphony Orchestra, Lebanon Symphony Orchestra, Knox County Symphony, Clermont Philharmonic, and the Wooster Symphony Orchestra. He also performs with his string quartet and churches around Mount Vernon.

Tickets are on sale now for this concert at the Renaissance Box Office, via phone at (419) 522-2726, and online at RenTickets.org. General admission is $10 with student tickets at $5.00. The Mansfield Symphony Youth Strings Fall Concert is presented in part thanks to funding from the Ohio Arts Council and with support from the Russell and Mary Gimbel Foundation and Sharon Granter, in memory of her late husband Don.
