The Renaissance Theatre will show the third of four films in its Family Film Series, “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory,” on Sunday, March 17 at 3:00 PM. The movie series is part of the Spherion Staffing Family Film Series.

In this classic film, Charlie Bucket (Peter Ostrum) lives in poverty (of means but definitely not of spirit) with his mother and four grandparents. On his way home from school one day, his paper route takes him past the gate of the town’s mysterious and reclusive, but highly-regarded candy-maker, Willy Wonka (Gene Wilder).

A “Find the Golden Tickets” contest for this event will begin on March 4 at noon and end on March 15 at 4:00 PM. Located on the Renaissance website, MansfieldTickets.com, there will be numerous Wonka Bar icons hidden in various places. Five of the Wonka Bar icons will be ‘Golden Tickets’ where the finder of the ticket will receive two tickets to the film screening of “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” and two giant candy bars. All players will be entered into a drawing for a Chocolate Lovers Gift Basket worth over $50. The drawing will take place directly before the “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” screening on March 17 at 3:00 PM.

The remaining film in the Spherion Staffing Family Film Series is Raiders of the Lost Ark, June 2.

Tickets are $5 and can be purchased in advance at the Renaissance Box Office, at the door, via phone at (419) 522-2726 and online at MansfieldTickets.com/film.
