Soggy Skeletons And Wet Witches Can Still Have Fun

It was a misty and occasionally wet morning and noon hour Saturday on the streets of downtown Mansfield, but the weather failed to have a chilling effect on throngs of children and their families.

The annual Monsterfield Masquerade saw dozens of merchants and businesses participating in Trick-or-Treat. At noon, the Halloween Parade stepped off from the corner of North Main and Fifth Street, heading up the hill toward Central Park. For the eleventh consecutive year, the last Friday of each month, May through September, brings music, food, and more to downtown Mansfield. From the initial offerings in 2007 that saw a few dozen attendees, the Downtown Mansfield, Inc. hosted Final Friday concerts have grown to attract thousands of music lovers. Walk, Talk, And Learn Downtown

Downtown Mansfield, Inc. and Just Walk Richland are excited to come together for the second of four DMI Walks in historic downtown Mansfield.

The second DMI Walk will take place on Saturday, June 16. The walk will kick off at the Central Park Gazebo and will be led by Alan Wigton. The walk is estimated to take about 2 and 1/2 hours and is considered moderate on the level of difficulty. Twenty-Second Year For Operation Clean Sweep

The City of Mansfield has announced that the City and Downtown Mansfield Inc., have declared Tuesday, May 15 as Operation Clean Sweep in support of Earth Stewardship Month and the Great American Clean Up.

Mansfield Receives First State Historic Tax Credit Awards

On Tuesday morning, something happened for the first time in Richland County – local projects were awarded tax credits under the Ohio Historic Preservation Tax Credit program.

In an announcement made at the headquarters of Downtown Mansfield, Inc. on North Main Street, officials of the Ohio Development Services Agency announced awarded $28,370,452 to projects to rehabilitate 22 historic buildings in 11 communities. The projects are expected to lead to approximately $165,386,833 in private investment. The awards include projects in three communities (Amherst, Cleveland Heights, and Mansfield) that are receiving an Ohio Historic Preservation Tax Credit for the first time. More…
