Sweep And Plant Downtown This Tuesday

The City of Mansfield and Downtown Mansfield, Inc. have announced, that Tuesday, May 21 will be Operation Sweep in support of Earth Stewardship Month and the Great American Clean up.

Volunteers, local business people, and organizations are being asked to don their work clothes and meet at the Gazebo in Central Park (near the Gazebo) between 4:45 PM and 5:00 PM to “Plant Pride, Not Litter.” More…

RichHistory Weekend: Secret City Tour

This week we’ll be looking at events at a handful of the venues participating in this coming weekend’s RichHistory Weekend. Fifteen Richland County sites are participating in this edition, and History for Children is the focus of this year’s lineup of family-friendly events. A “Passport to History” is being distributed to fourth grade elementary school history classes, with teacher information packets. Each site will have prizes, and students obtaining passport stamps from four different sites will be entered in a prize drawing.

A part of RichHistory Weekend since its first year, Downtown Mansfield, Inc. (DMI) will hold its 2019 Secret City Tour on Saturday, May 4 beginning at 10:00 AM. More…

Donations Sought For Downtown Beautification

Downtown Mansfield, Inc. (DMI) has announced that it is continuing their beautification program for 2019. In addition, the folks at DMI will be planting the evergreens in planters throughout downtown this year during the holiday season.

Last year, DMI planted spring and summer flowers in over 120 planters, purchased several new planters for the downtown, and filled many planters with evergreens during the holiday season.  They were so happy with the results that they are looking to grow those efforts. More…

Soggy Skeletons And Wet Witches Can Still Have Fun

It was a misty and occasionally wet morning and noon hour Saturday on the streets of downtown Mansfield, but the weather failed to have a chilling effect on throngs of children and their families.

The annual Monsterfield Masquerade saw dozens of merchants and businesses participating in Trick-or-Treat. At noon, the Halloween Parade stepped off from the corner of North Main and Fifth Street, heading up the hill toward Central Park. It’s time next week for the sound of music and fun beckoning you to The Brickyard and to the June Final Friday Concert.

For the eleventh consecutive year, the last Friday of each month, May through September, brings music, food, and more to downtown Mansfield. From the initial offerings in 2007 that saw a few dozen attendees, the Downtown Mansfield, Inc. hosted Final Friday concerts have grown to attract thousands of music lovers.
