This Saturday brings the Family Friendly Bird Day presented by the Richland County Park District.

This event will be a virtual one, with videos being premiered throughout the day. All present various aspects of backyard birding for the whole family, and will be presented on the following schedule:

9 AM – Identifying Winter Birds with Jason Larson

10 AM- Bird in the Hand with Steve McKee

11 AM- Feeding Birds (including fun activities for DIY bird feeders) with Jason Larson

NAMI Presents Family & Friends

The Richland County branch of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is seeking to make connections between information, support, and those people who have friends and family with mental health conditions.

To this end, NAMI is presenting “Family & Friends,” a free 90 minute seminar that puts those pieces together.

According to NAMI, “Participants learn about diagnoses, treatment, recovery, communication strategies, crisis preparation and NAMI resources. Seminar leaders have personal experience with mental health conditions in their families.” More…
