The remarkable local resource which is the Ohio Genealogical Society is continuing its popular “Summer Sessions” over the coming several weeks.

These free sessions continue through October at the OGS’ Samuel D. Isaly Library near Bellville. All sessions are held at the Library, except where noted. Pre-registration is requested by calling 419-886-1903. Please watch for additional programs to be added.

As a reminder, the OGS’s Isaly Library is open from 9 AM to 5 PM Tuesday through Saturday. Admission is just $5, and free for OGS members. A Library informational brochure can be viewed here.

The facility near Bellville is on outstanding resource for those seeking family history information with a Buckeye connection. Included are over 60,000 books, 250,000 ancestor cards, 4,000 Bible records, 7,000 family histories, and complete Ohio census records from 1800 to 1940.

  • August 10 at 10 AM – Tour the OGS Hal West Archives with Tom Neel
  • August 10 at 1 PM – Lineage Workshop with Margaret Cheney
  • August 16 at 10 AM – War of 1812 Naval Research with Eric Johnson
  • August 17 at 1 PM – The Negro Motorist Green Book with Stacey Adger
  • August 23 at 10 AM – DNA Sibling Study with Kelli Bergheimer
  • August 24 at 1 PM – Photo Intelligence: How to Get the Most Our of Your Old Photographs with Norm Lewicki
