The Lucas CubsRiley Mounts caught a 13 yard pass from Logan Niswander on a gutsy fourth and goal play to transport the Cubs into a Division VII Ohio Football Championship contest later this week in Canton’s Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium.

The team will be in fine company in Canton, as the Mansfield Tygers will be playing for the Division III title on Friday, December 6 at 3 PM.

Lucas will be playing Marion Local High School from Maria Stein on Saturday, December 7 at 10 AM; the Flyers have won the state football championship ten times in the last twenty years and now have a record of 12-2. Marion Local beat Patrick Henry in the other semifinal game, 40-6.

After a scoreless first half, the Cubs went up 7-0 in the third quarter before Harvest Prep responded with a touchdown of their own. Another touchdown made the score 12-7 before the dramatic fourth quarter finish.

Ticket information for the Lucas and Mansfield Senior games is available here.
