The Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District, which encompasses all or part of 27 Ohio counties, has announced dates for its traditional Memorial Day Weekend activities. In the greater Mansfield area, that includes both Charles Mill Lake Park and Pleasant Hill Lake Park.

At Pleasant Hill, located near Perrysville, the schedule is as follows:

Thursday, May 27

9 AM – 11 AM – Birding Boat Tour: Naturalist-led Pontoon Boat Guided tours include birding tours, sunset tours, & history tours. Visit www.mwcd.org/kayak for more information and online reservations. Only $15/person, limited seating and reservations required.

Friday, May 28

6 PM – 8 PM – Naturalist On Duty: Naturalist available to assist with any questions, self-directed activities or programs scheduled for week

9 PM -11 PM – Moonlight Kayaking Tour: Enjoy a Naturalist-led kayak Moonlight tour of Pleasant Hill Lake by the light of the full moon! Bring your own equipment or borrow ours. Visit www.mwcd.org/kayak for more information and online reservations. Only $25/person. Limited seating. Reservations required.

Saturday, May 29

9 AM – 10 AM – Naturalist On Duty: Naturalist available to assist with any questions, self-directed activities or programs scheduled for week

10 AM – 12 PM – Family Crafts: Bring the whole family and enjoy making you own craft. Complete kit and directions to make and take home. Sign up for a time slot at the Welcome Center desk.

2 PM – 4 PM – Meet a Meteorite: -A meteorite is a solid piece of debris from an object, such as meteoroid, that originates in outer space and survives the atmosphere to reach earth. Get to learn about, see and feel a real meteorite from outer space. Meet at Welcome Center deck. Presented by the Richland Astronomical Society.

7 PM – 10 PM – LIVE Music: Yak Pack Band – Join us for live musical entertainment on stage near the welcome center. Summer Concerts Series are open to the public and free with gate admission. Yak Pack Band performing Rock/Pop Music.

Sunday, May 30

9:30 PM -11 PM –Movie at the Lake: Watch a movie on the BIG Screen at the beach. Bring your own chairs and blankets and look for a marked square. Due to copyright rules, the movie title is available by calling the park office or on the activity sheet printed at the park. Movie is rated PG.

Monday, May 31

9 AM – 10 AM – Naturalist On Duty: Naturalist available to assist with any questions, self-directed activities or programs scheduled for week

10 AM – 11:30 AM  – Nature Hike: Join our naturalist for a leisure hike one of our nature trails, exploring the plants and wildlife along the way. Meet at welcome center.

Friday, May 28

7:00 PM – Kidz Welcome Packages – Activities will deliver welcome packages with a craft and activities to campsites. Call to register at 419-368-6885.

7:30 PM – Family Bingo – Meet near the beach shelter and look for squares to setup your blanket or chairs. Join activities for a fun evening with camper bingo. In case of cold weather or rain, bingo will be held by parking your cars and using a PA system to announce numbers and winners.

Saturday, May 29

10:30 AM – Flag Raising – Meet in front of the Messerly Building for a ceremony and music. Then enjoy pickup coffee and donuts. While supplies last, by donations. Children must be with parents.

11:30 AM – Kidz Craft Time – Make a flag craft! Call 419-368-6885 for reservation. Packages will be delivered to your campsite.

1:30 PM – Corn Hole Tournament for Kidz – Meet at the Eagle Point cornhole area near the shelter. For ages 6-15.

1:30 PM – Corn Hole Tournament for Adults – Meet at the Main Camp cornhole area near the big playground, shelter, and swings. For ages 16 and up.

4:00 PM – Story Book Nature Walk – Meet at Messerly Recreation Building to pick up directions. Take a walk around the nearby loop and read the nature story. Answer questions to enter prize drawings.

7:00 PM – LIVE Music: Oolong Gurus – Bring your chair, blanket, or golf cart to the beach to enjoy live music. Glow items will be available to buy from activities. Find a square and enjoy an evening of great music and prize drawings.

Sunday, May 30

10:15 AM – Church Services – Meet at the shelter area of the Messerly Recreation Building.

12:00 PM – Kidz Crafts – Make a suncatcher! Call 419-368-6885 for reservations. Activities will deliver the craft to your campsite.

1:30 PM – Adult Crafts – Make a Memorial Day wreath! Call 419-368-6885 for reservations. Activities will deliver the craft package to your campsite.

3:30 PM – Memorial Day Bike Decoration Contest – Decorate your bike, scooter or wagon and place the decorated vehicle by your lot number. Activities will be around to give you a bag of candy and a ticket to enter in the prize drawing.  Decorated vehicle must complete by 3:30pm.

7:00 PM – Mr. Ed DJ Music – Meet at the Eagle Point Shelter with your lawn chair or blanket. Listen to your favorite songs, plus enjoy line dancing and a cake walk.
