With 88 counties in Ohio benefiting from the presence of Buckeyes, OSU’s reach and impact are state-wide. Notably, 73% of its student body, which totals around 68,000 annually, comprises Ohio residents, emphasizing OSU’s commitment to serving the educational needs of the state.

Ranked 6th nationally for industry-sponsored research and 12th in research expenditures among all universities, OSU is at the forefront of innovation. The university not only educates over 65,000 students across six campuses but also leads pioneering research initiatives. Its distinction includes housing the first-ever science park dedicated to space research, highlighting its leadership in pushing the boundaries of discovery and innovation. Richland County’s Connection to OSU

The university has a significant presence in the county, with 596 students hailing from the area, supported by scholarships totaling $1,403,489. The county also prides itself on having 4,742 alumni who contribute to a global network of nearly 700,000 Buckeyes, indicating the widespread influence of OSU’s educational programs. Furthermore, the generosity of 1,295 donors has enabled new fundraising efforts amounting to $193,355 in Richland County alone.
