Although the school year just began, it’s not too early for graduating seniors to start considering their options for college. Actually, seniors along with juniors, sophomores and even freshmen have the ability to check out at least one Richland County option, The Ohio State University at Mansfield (OSUM) during OSUM Campus Visit Day events.

These events are designed to let high school students explore the idea of attending the Ohio State University at Mansfield by gaining familiarity with the campus and the school itself. The schedule of the events includes the opportunity to learn about OSUM, tour the campus, visit student housing, and meet with staff in admissions, advising, and financial aid.

The upcoming visits begin in the morning and are done by lunchtime, with the exception of one visit that is being held in the evening. The full schedule is below, and registration is open online at mansfield.osu.edu/visit.

Dates:

  • September 24 (evening program 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM)
  • Friday, October 18 (8:00 AM – 12:00 PM)
  • Saturday, November 2 (8:30 AM – 12:00 PM)
  • Friday, November 22 (8:30 AM – 12:00 PM)
  • Monday, February 17 (8:30 AM – 12:00 PM)
  • Saturday, March 21 (8:30 AM – 12:00 PM)
  • Friday, April 17 (8:30 AM – 12:00 PM)

There is good reason to consider OSUM. According to its website (link: mansfield.osu.edu), the school offers students the ability to complete many Ohio State academic programs in a small-campus setting with the resources of a world-class university. Students can obtain a bachelor’s degree in a number of disciplines, including Business Management, Nursing and Social Work; alternatively, students may start at OSUM and then transfer to the main campus in Columbus after 2 or 3 years to finish their degree.

The Ohio State University at Mansfield has the second highest graduation rate among similar schools in Ohio.
