Mansfield students have an incredible chance this summer to dive into the fascinating world of S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture/Arts, and Mathematics). The Mansfield S.T.E.A.M. Camp, designed for students in grades 3-6, will run from June 10 to June 21 at Mansfield Senior High School.

Dates and Schedule

The camp offers an enriching two-week program:

  • Week 1: June 10 – June 14
  • Week 2: June 17 – June 21
  • Daily Time: 9:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Students are encouraged to participate in both weeks for the full experience.

Eligibility and Location

Open to rising 3rd to 6th graders, the camp will take place at Mansfield Senior High School, located at 124 North Linden Road, Mansfield, OH 44906.

Cost and Registration

Excitingly, the camp is free for Mansfield City School students. Parents and guardians can find more details and register through the camp’s Smore page.

Exciting Activities and Learning Opportunities

Campers will engage in a range of hands-on activities that highlight the intersection between STEM subjects and the arts. Here are some highlights:

  • Community Site Tours: Students will visit local farms to learn about agriculture and its importance in the community, gaining a real-world understanding of food sources and modern farming technology.
  • S.T.E.A.M. Projects: Interactive projects and experiments will bring science and technology to life. Students will build simple machines, understand engineering principles, and get creative.
  • Arts and Creativity: Arts integration will allow students to explore how creativity enhances scientific and technological endeavors, with art projects demonstrating engineering concepts and encouraging expression.

Supporting Mansfield’s Youth

The Mansfield S.T.E.A.M. Camp shows the community’s dedication to providing quality educational opportunities for its youth. By combining STEM education with the arts, the camp aims to develop well-rounded students ready for future challenges.

This initiative aligns with Mansfield City Schools’ broader goals to promote innovative learning and support student success both inside and outside the classroom. The S.T.E.A.M. Camp not only educates but also inspires students to explore new interests and develop critical thinking skills.
