The Mansfield Power Squadron (MPS), a local nonprofit organization committed to promoting boating safety and education, is offering an America’s Boating Course (ABC) this fall and next spring.
The course is designed for both novice and seasoned boaters, covering a wide range of topics from boat handling to advanced navigation techniques. With certified instructors at the helm, the course aims to equip participants with the skills and knowledge needed for a safe and enjoyable boating experience.
The fall class for 2023 will commence on Wednesday, September 13, running from 6:30-8:30 pm for 8-10 weeks. It will be held at the Madison Adult Career Center in Mansfield, OH. The spring class for 2024 will begin on Tuesday, March 5, also running from 6:30-8:30 pm for 8-10 weeks. Registration for the fall class is open until September 8, and interested participants can register by calling MACC at 419-589-6363 ext. 65052.
For those who prefer a different location, classes will also be available at the Pioneer Career and Technology Center, located at 27 Ryan Rd., Shelby. These classes will be held on Tuesdays from September 12 to November 21, between 7–9 pm. To register, call the Adult Education Department at 419-347-7744 by September 8.

The Mansfield Power Squadron
Founded in 1951 and chartered on February 7, 1952, the Mansfield Power Squadron has been an active member of District Seven of the United States Power Squadrons.
