Special to 1812Blockhouse

Under the direction of Lori Turner, the Renaissance Youth Opera Theatre (RYOT) announces open registration for its Workshop Showcase, scheduled for January 28, 2023.

What’s better than a fully staged musical? Fully staged scenes from lots and LOTS of musicals (and plays)! Designed to focus on the individual performer, the RYOT Workshop Showcase will offer opportunities for young actors to work one on one and in small ensembles with director Lori Turner and other guest professionals to develop and grow vocal skills, hone their acting chops and perform in a smaller cast setting.

Offered as an opportunity for participation by students in second through twelfth grade, the workshop will be limited to a maximum of 20 performers per age group (2nd Grade—6th Grade; and 7th Grade—12th Grade).  Rehearsals for the showcase will begin on Wednesday, December 28.

There is an activity fee of $15 per child; with scholarships available to participants. To register for the workshop, families may visit: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/ryot-workshop-2023-tickets-429259315167

For additional information regarding the 2022-23 RYOT Workshop Showcase, please contact Lori Turner at: [email protected]. The Renaissance Youth Opera Theatre Program is a part of the Mechanics Bank Education Series.
