This fall the Ohio Genealogical Society, based here in Richland County, is planning to change its traditional fall get-together into a “Fall Retreat” at the Mohican State Park Lodge – and you are invited.

Registration is now open for that event, which will be held from September 27 to September 29.

Richland Countians are well acquainted with the Lodge and its numerous amenities, which include heated outdoor and indoor pools, a fitness room, beautiful views, and wonderful food.

The Retreat will feature speakers Kelli Bergheimer, Lauren Kuntzman, Peggy Clemens Lauritzen, and Russ Pollitt. Sessions will include talks on DNA and genealogy; church records; family research strategies; and much more. A flyer with more information can be found here, and online registration is here.

Space is limited and participants must register in advance. Registration is $120 for OGS members; $150 for nonmembers. Registration includes a Saturday luncheon. Sessions will be held Friday afternoon and all day Saturday. Lodge rooms are $99 per night, plus tax.

Send us your news — of an announcement, event,
club news, fundraiser – whatever! It’s easy to do online.
