North End Community Improvement Collaboration (NECIC) will hold a Meet the Candidates night on October 29 at 6:00 PM. The event will be held at the Steelworkers Union Hall (1595 Longview Avenue, Mansfield); this is a larger venue than that used in previous years.
Those attending will hear from the candidates and have an opportunity to ask them questions. NECIC has not indicated whether all candidates will be in attendance; however those invited are as follows:
~Mansfield mayoral candidates Tim Theaker (Republican, incumbent) and Don Bryant (Democrat)
~Mansfield City Council, President of Council candidates Aurelio V. Diaz (Democrat) and Cliff Mears (Republican)
~Direct of Finance: Linn Steward
~Law Direct: John Spon (Democrat)
~Mansfield City Council, Council At Large candidates Phil Scott (Democrat) and David Falquette (Republican)
~Mansfield City Council, 2nd Ward candidates Cheryl Meier (Democrat) and Jason Crundwell (Republican)
~Mansfield City Council, 4th Ward candidates Alomar Davenport (Democrat), Brenda Vaughn (Democrat), Gerald Strouth (Republican)
~Mansfield City Council, 6th Ward candidates Jean Taddie (Democrat) and Stephanie Zander (Republican)
~Mansfield School Board candidates Wendy Burnom, Renda Cline, Pamella Rembert, Barbara Kern, Sheryl Weber, Judy Stahl Forney and Linda Golden
Election Day is November 5; however, early voting is currently underway. Those who would like to vote early can visit the Richland County Board of Elections office at 1495 W. Longview Avenue, Suite 101 in Mansfield. Hours for early voting are as follows: Through Friday, November 1: 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM; Saturday, November 2: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Sunday, November 3: 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM; Monday, November 4: 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. On Election Day, November 5, polls will open at 6:30 AM and close at 7:30 PM; visit the Richland County Board of Elections website to find your polling location and to view a sample ballot.
