In a step towards nurturing the potential of young adults in Mansfield, the North End Community Improvement Collaborative (NECIC) has announced the launch of “Empowering You,” a dynamic six-week program designed for individuals aged 18-24. This initiative not only aims to arm participants with valuable life skills and support but also offers a unique stipend incentive for complete attendance. Here’s a closer look at what the program entails and how it stands to benefit the community.

Beginning on April 4, from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM, the “Empowering You” program will unfold at NECIC’s headquarters at 134 N Main Street, Mansfield. Over the course of six sessions, attendees will engage in a structured progression of workshops, each focusing on pivotal areas of personal and community development.

Participants will delve into topics ranging from goal setting to community engagement, personal growth, self-esteem enhancement, conflict resolution, communication skills, and understanding the multifaceted causes and risks associated with youth violence.

NECIC is not only investing in the participants’ educational journey but also offering a tangible incentive: a stipend of $150. This reward for commitment emphasizes the value of perseverance and the importance of self-investment.

The program’s strategy is to address the challenges that young adults face in today’s society, with an emphasis on nurturing strong, resilient community members. The initiative is funded by the Commission on Minority Health, showcasing a shared vision for a healthier, more equitable future.

As the program commences shortly, NECIC extends an invitation to the young adults of Mansfield to register for “Empowering You” and take a step towards a more empowered self and community. Interested parties are encouraged to act promptly as the program is poised to become a cornerstone in local youth development initiatives.
