Next weekend’s Mohican Wildlife Weekend, a staple of spring events in the Richland County area, will begin with a presentation on Ohio’s Scenic River Program.
The keynote address will be delivered by Robert Gable, the Program Manager for ODNR’s Scenic Rivers Program. He will discuss the history of Ohio’s Scenic River Program, its achievements, recent updates, and future prospects.
The event will take place at Pleasant Hill Lake Park’s Welcome Center in Perrysville on Friday, April 28 at 7 PM. A reception and river table activity will begin at 6 PM, with free, limited indoor seating available.
Bob Gable has dedicated over 30 years of service to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources’ Division of Natural Areas and Preserves, specifically within the Ohio Scenic Rivers Program. His past roles include Big Darby Creek Stormwater Education Coordinator and Southwest and Central Ohio Regional Scenic River Coordinators. Before joining ODNR, Bob worked at the Columbus Zoo and Battelle Memorial Institute. He holds a degree in Zoology from Ohio State University.
Schedule of events:
6-7 PM – Welcome Reception – Meet Our Wildlife Wild Animal Ambassadors at the Welcome Center overlooking Pleasant Hill Lake.
7-8 PM – Keynote Address – Robert Gable, ODNR Scenic Rivers Program Manager, at the Welcome Center at Pleasant Hill Lake Park in Perrysville.
The first 100 guests will receive a Dry Bag featuring this year’s logo (limited to one per person), available on a first-come, first-served basis.
1812Blockhouse will be highlighting a handful of Mohican Wildlife Weekend events over the next few days and will be following that with an overall schedule of events.
