Come and be a part of this year’s Mid-Ohio Small Farm Conference & Trade Show, taking place March 11 at The Ohio State University – Mansfield campus.

This year’s Conference theme is “Sowing Seeds for Success.”

Attendees can visit the Richland Soil and Water Conservation District and the United States Department of Agriculture-Natural Resources Conservation Service-Richland County (USDA-NRCS) to learn about the services provided, such as soil tests, site recommendations, pond education, and rainwater usage/capturing. The conference has five different tracks for beginners and small farm owners, including Farm Office, Horticulture and Produce Production, Livestock, Agritourism/Marketing, and Natural Resources.

Topics to be covered include family farm purchasing; food animal processing; beekeeping, sweet corn, blueberry and pumpkin production; small ruminant nutrition; agritourism laws; fruit tree pruning; and cut flower diseases. Session descriptions can be read here.

The conference welcomes anyone interested in developing, growing, or diversifying their small farm, including market gardeners, farmers market vendors, and enthusiasts of small farm living. At the conference, attendees will have the chance to network with other farmers and vendors, browse the trade show featuring the newest and most innovative ideas and services for farming operations.
