A METRICH operation on Monday, acting on search warrants, led to thousands of dollars seized from an accused drug trafficker.
The operation was carried out by METRICH, the Richland County Sheriff’s Office, and the Allied Special Operations Response Team (ASORT).
Lieutenant Jason Bammann said that the search warrants at two locations on Grace Street in Mansfield netted over nine ounces of crack cocaine, over 300 Percocet pills, and other miscellaneous drugs. The total street value of the drgs was over $40,000, Lt. Bammann indicated.
A loaded 40 caliber Smith and Wesson handgun, over $14,000 in cash, and other stolen property was also seized.
41-year-old Danny L. Brown was charged with trafficking in cocaine, possession of cocaine, trafficking in Schedule II narcotics, possession of Schedule II narcotics, and weapons under disability.
Lt.Bammann said, “it was the tips received from the community, the daily work from detectives, and the collaboration between METRICH and the Richland County Sheriff’s Department that ultimately removed a career criminal from the streets of our community. The METRICH Enforcement Unit will continue to seek those that pollute our streets with narcotics and Lt. Bammann encourages all citizens to continue reporting suspected drug activity.”
