The Renaissance Theatre, located at 138 Park Avenue West in Mansfield, is excited to announce the commencement of video audition submissions for their much-anticipated November 2023 production of the classic Broadway hit, “Hello, Dolly!”

Video Audition Submission Dates:

Audition submissions will be accepted from Monday, August 7th through Sunday, August 13th, 2023. Aspiring performers are invited to showcase their talents and passion for musical theatre by submitting their audition videos via unlisted YouTube links to: [email protected]

Audition Requirements:

The audition should consist of 32 bars of a musical theatre song in the style of the show. Additionally, participants are requested to provide a dance reel or a brief clip demonstrating their dancing abilities.

Eligibility:

Auditions are open to performers ages 16 and above. All roles are available, with the exception of the role of Dolly Levi.

Callbacks:

Those selected for callbacks will be asked to submit a reading from the script. The necessary materials will be emailed directly to the participants. Please note that there will be no in-person auditions.

Rehearsal and Performance Schedule:

The rehearsals will be held on Mondays through Thursdays from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM on the following dates: October 9, 10, 11, 12, 16, 17, 18, 19, 23, 24, 25, 26, 30, 31, November 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10. Additionally, there will be Saturday rehearsals from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on October 14, 21, 28, and November 4. The First Tech rehearsal is scheduled for Sunday, November 5th, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, and the Brush-up rehearsal will take place on Friday, November 17th.

Performances:

The highly anticipated performances of “Hello, Dolly!” will be presented on Saturday, November 11th and 18th at 7:30 PM, as well as Sunday, November 12th and 19th at 2:30 PM.

Compensation:

For out-of-town guest actors with named roles, a weekly compensation of $200 will be provided, along with housing, and a $150 travel stipend. Local performers will receive a performance stipend commensurate with their experience.

About “Hello, Dolly!”:

“Hello, Dolly!” is one of Broadway’s biggest hits, a timeless musical that follows the endearing matchmaker, Dolly Levi, on her amusing quest to find a wife for the curmudgeonly and wealthy bachelor, Horace Vandergelder. The unforgettable score includes beloved songs such as “Put on Your Sunday Clothes,” “It Only Takes a Moment,” “Before the Parade Passes By,” and the titular “Hello, Dolly!”

Horace Vandergelder (40-65) – Baritone

Irene Molloy (20-35) – Soprano

Cornelius Hackl (20-35) – Baritone

Baraby Tucker (18-25) – Baritone/Tenor

Minnie Fay (18-30) – Mezzo

Ambrose Kemper – Tenor

Ermengarde – Mezzo

Ensemble – Dance experience required, with the ability to play multiple roles.

Intimacy Staging and Rehearsal Protocols:

All scenes involving intimacy will adhere to specific staging and rehearsal protocols rooted in consent and safety for the actors. The production team is committed to fostering a secure and respectful environment during these sensitive moments.
