Under the direction of Lori Turner, the Renaissance Youth Opera Theatre has announced auditions for its production of Annie Get Your Gun.

Annie Oakley is the best shot around, supporting her little brother and sisters by selling the game she hunts. When she’s discovered by Col. Buffalo Bill, he persuades this novel sharpshooter to join his Wild West Show. She soon eclipses ace sharpshooter Frank Butler as the main attraction which, while good for business, is bad for romance.

A show within a show, Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show features a passel of cowboy and Native American performers, all set to Irving Berlin’s remarkable score: “Anything You can Do, I can Do Better”, “There’s No Business Like Show Business”, “I Got The Sun In The Morning” are just a few of the hits of this fun filled musical for all ages!

Open to young performers 2nd Grade through High School, auditions will be held Saturday September 21 from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM and Sunday September 22 from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM in the Renaissance Theatre Ballroom at 138 Park Avenue West in Mansfield.

Auditioners are requested to prepare 32 bars of a musical theatre song. Appointments are required and can be scheduled by going to www.rentickets.org/audition.

Performances are Saturday February 1 at 7:00 PM and Sunday February 2 at 3:00 PM.
