On September 7, and in the heart of Ohio – Richland County – the  Richland Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) is joining hands with Richland County Farm Bureau to commemorate agriculture, celebrate conservation efforts, and honor the milestones achieved in our county.

Did you know? The Richland SWCD is not just any district; it’s the Ohio District of the Year. They’ve been pillars of dedication, preserving our land and waters for a remarkable 75 years. Their golden journey speaks volumes about their commitment, going beyond numbers to a legacy of conservation and innovation.

The festivities are set to light up the Kehoe Center on 175 Mansfield Avenue, Shelby. Be there between 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. But remember, to be a part of this gala, you’ve got to book your spot before August 24. Want more info? Just dial 419-755-4542.

Among the evening’s highlights is an enriching talk by none other than Reverend Paul Lintern. Ever wondered about the depth of Richland County’s agricultural roots? His topic, “Richland County is Rich Land,” is sure to provide insights and connect every listener to our cherished lands.

The evening won’t just be about the past; it’s also about shaping the future. Election bells will ring for the Richland County Farm Bureau and the Richland SWCD board supervisor. With nominees like Brian Alt, Rick Novak, and Greg Timberlake, the future looks promising. And if you’re a landowner or resident over 18 in Richland SWCD, your vote can steer the direction!

But this event isn’t just about celebrations and elections. It’s a testament to the values we hold dear in Richland County. The enduring efforts of Richland SWCD and the thriving vision of the Farm Bureau are living proof of our commitment to a sustainable and flourishing community.

So, if you call Richland County home or are just passionate about agriculture and conservation, circle September 7th on your calendar. Dive into an evening that promises inspiration, reflection, and a grand celebration of our collective commitment.
