With the passage of Senate Bill 150 in 2014, Ohio became the first state to require anybody who applies commercial fertilizer to more than 50 acres for agricultural purposes to be certified no later than Sept. 30, 2017. Applying fertilizer without certification could result in fines and/or misdemeanor charges.

A Certification Meeting will be held on February 7 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Richland County Longview Center 1495 West Longview Ave. in Mansfield. This is a three-hour Agricultural Fertilizer Certification Meeting, intended for applicators who currently do and do NOT have a pesticide applicator license.

The class is being offered by Ohio State University Extension. Contact: Jason Hartschuh:  [email protected] or 419-562-8731.
