All across Richland County, non-profit organizations are participating in the third annual Richland Gives, a one day event which focuses giving both to a specific time and a specific online location.

The online day of giving is set for today from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

The day is designed to encourage everyone to contribute to local nonprofits they care about through a single giving platform/website. The Richland County Foundation is hosting the day to build capacity, grow philanthropy and make the community stronger. RCF President Brady Groves said “Richland Gives’ success will depend on our collective enthusiasm and implementation. We’re asking nonprofit professionals, volunteers, businesses and citizens to bring their skills and experiences to this effort.”

The day of giving will allow Richland County nonprofit organizations to raise funds and awareness as well as cultivate new donors. The first year for Richland Gives saw some $64,000 raised for 65 organizations. To date, over $242,000 has been raised, with more than $38,000 in matching funds awarded during the event.

Thanks to the generosity of donors at the Richland County Foundation, incentives will be awarded as grants to nonprofit organizations participating in Richland Gives, beyond what they raise from online donations. Two events co-hosted by the Foundation will be held on November 28: a Food Truck Rally and Nonprofit Showcase from 12- 1:30 p.m. at the Recreation Center at the Ohio State University at Mansfield Campus and a Leader Board Watch Party from 5-7 p.m. at the Phoenix Brewery in Mansfield. Nonprofit organizations will have the chance to earn additional prizes by attending each event.

To participate in the fun, donate by visiting the Richland Gives website at this online location and clicking on the “Give Now” or “Donate” button, attend an event — or both!
