Nominations continue to be accepted for awards honoring Ohioans who carry on the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. 2018 marks the 50th anniversary of Dr. King’s death.

Awards honoring such individuals and organizations will be given at the 2019 Ohio Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Celebration, scheduled for Jan. 14, 2019, at Trinity Episcopal Church in downtown Columbus. The New Store Continues To Make A Difference

The New Store provided clothing for 1,100 Richland County children – kindergarten through eighth grade – during the current school year. Six hundred of them were from Mansfield City Schools.

First Grader’s Effort Suggests Giving Opportunity For Others

A first-grader at the Spanish Immersion School is all about toys this holiday season – but not for herself.

Saoirse Dove, 6, is collecting new toys for patients at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus. Her effort is a community service project through her participation in American Heritage Girls. Richland Gives, the annual fundraising effort for dozens of area non-profits in conjunction with the Richland County Foundation, showed one thing clearly during its 12 hour run on Tuesday:

The Mansfield and Richland County community is alive, well, and cares about its future.

According to its website, the official total at the end of the day reflected a staggering $163,046 generated from 472 donors and 743 total donations. More…

A sleep-out to raise funds for Harmony House Homeless Services, Inc. is planned for Friday, Nov. 4, at the Walmart in Ontario.

The annual event is sponsored by Mansfield City Schools’ S.A.F.E. (Student Achievement through Family Engagement) and the Mansfield Senior High Key Club. A Gala Time At St. Peter’s

Senator Brown Speaks As My Brothers Keeper Is Introduced To Mansfield

My Brother’s Keeper, a youth mentoring program initiated by President Obama in 2014, came to Mansfield on Thursday.

US Senator Sherrod Brown, a Mansfield native and Senior High graduate, brought the message, first in a roundtable discussion with community leaders in Senior High’s Dutton Community Room, then to students during an assembly in the auditorium. “The president realized the importance of mentoring in his own life as he was growing up,” Brown said. “It is important to all of us.
