Finalists have been announced in the Ohio Associated Press Media Editors 2021 broadcast and newspaper contests, according to the Ohio APME. The awards in actual order of finish will be announced May 7 in Columbus along with the General Excellence, Hall of Fame, Rising Star and First Amendment award winners.

The Mansfield News Journal was recognized with multiple finalists, including:

The News Journal is in Division III, comprised of publications in Ohio with circulations between 12,000 and 18,999. There were 10 publications competing in that division.

Specific places for each category will be announced at the Ohio APME Awards luncheon on May 7 at the Villa Milano Banquet and Conference Center in Columbus.
