Bear with us. We’re about to use a four letter word which some find distasteful.

The word is …. Fall. Yes, that time of the year is around the corner.

The Fall Harvest Show, sponsored by the Mansfield Men’s Garden Club, will be held at Kingwood Center Gardens on August 26 from 2 to 5 PM, and on August 27 from 10 AM to 5PM.

Area gardeners are invited to show their best vegetables, flowers, fruits, herbs, houseplants, and flower arrangements, and to compete for prizes in many different categories. Entries will be accepted on Saturday, August 26, from 7-11am. An electric golf cart and hand carts will be available to transport entries to the Carriage House during this time. Show schedules, entry cards, and other information may be obtained at Kingwood.

Junior gardeners, through grade 12, may also exhibit their vegetables, flowers, gourds and pumpkins.

For more information about this and other activities at Kingwood, please contact us Monday through Friday at 419-522-0211 or visit www.kingwoodcenter.org.

And, as a reminder, regular hours are held at Kingwood through October 31, with the grounds open 9 AM to 7 PM daily, and the greenhouse open from 9 AM to 6 PM daily.
