The Sixteenth Annual Ontario 4th of July Festival gives locals a chance to jump start their Indepedence Day celebrations in grand style. This year’s event takes place this Saturday, June 30.
According to the organizer’s website, “Since our beginning in 1969, the Ontario 4th of July festival has aimed to represent “Fun for All Ages”. After some period of time, the festival stopped due to absence of funding and insurance. In 2002 a small, non-profit committee of volunteers saw the need for the re-birth of our yearly, community event. This new festival committee breathed new life into the Ontario Fourth of July Festival in 2002.” More…

The annual Simple Goods Early Country Antiques & Primitive Goods Show is being held today, Saturday, November 4.
Ohio native Candy Looker, a primitive design artist and crafter, established Simple Goods in 2006. With the assistance of her husband, Tom, and sister and brother-in-law, Max and Harry Squires, Candy continued to run Simple Goods until June 2015, when she sold the show to Christina Hummel, a Pennsylvania antiques dealer, and Kris Casucci, a Massachusetts show promoter and antiques dealer.
