The month of May brings both lighthearted and intriguing film fare to the Community Room of the Mansfield/Richland County Public Library downtown. As always, movies are shown at no charge.

Monday Matinee

May 1 – 2:00 PM – La La Land
A jazz pianist falls for an aspiring actress in Los Angeles.  PG-13

Wednesday Movies

May 3 – 5:00 PM – A Dog’s Purpose
A dog looks to discover his purpose in life over the course of several lifetimes and owners.  PG

May 10 – 5:00 PM – Jaws (1975)
A giant great white shark arrives on the shores of a New England beach resort and wreaks havoc with bloody attacks on swimmers, until a local sheriff teams up with a marine biologist and an old seafarer to hunt the monster down.  PG

May 17 – 5:30 PM – Split
Three girls are kidnapped by a man with a diagnosed 23 distinct personalities, they must try to escape before the apparent emergence of a frightful new 24th.  PG-13

May 24 – 5:30 PM – The Great Wall
European mercenaries searching for black powder become embroiled in the defense of the Great Wall of China against a horde of monstrous creatures.  PG-13

May 31 – 5:00 PM – XXX: Return of Xander Cage
Xander Cage is left for dead after an incident, though he secretly returns to action for a new, tough assignment with his handler Augustus Gibbons.  PG-13

Saturday Movies

May 13 – 2:00 PM – Monster Trucks
In a small town, an oil company is drilling for oil. The geologist, Dowd, informs his boss, Tenneson that they detected what could be an ecosystem which could affect their drilling rights.  PG

May 27 – 2:00 PM – Beauty and the Beast (1991)
A young woman whose father has been imprisoned by a terrifying beast offers herself in his place, unaware that her captor is actually a prince, physically altered by a magic spell.
