Load up the family and head to Malabar Farm State Park on June 24, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM to experience a combination of fun and learning. This free, outdoor festival is a must-visit event, offering a number of exciting activities focused on the environment, agriculture, and food origins.

This annual summer event is orchestrated by the Richland Soil and Water Conservation District, in collaboration with over 15 community non-profit organizations. The festival is aimed at fostering a love for nature and local produce in a fun and engaging setting.

Engaging Activities

Whether you’re an outdoor enthusiast or someone who loves hands-on activities, this festival has something for everyone. Children will have the chance to dip their fingers in various interactive activities – from archery to planting a seedling. Not a fan of archery? Don’t fret. You can take a tranquil wagon ride or test your fishing skills at the Big House Pond (pictured). Your little ones will be talking about their adventurous day for weeks to come.

Food and More

Hungry after all the activities? Food trucks will be stationed at the venue, offering a variety of culinary delights to tantalize your taste buds. If that’s not enough, a host of vendors will be selling fresh, locally grown food items. From delectable microgreens, herb and vegetable plants to mouth-watering maple syrup, meat, and honey, there’s something to cater to all palettes.

Learning Opportunities

This festival isn’t just about fun; it’s also an educational journey. The event aims to raise awareness about the importance of locally grown food and sustainable living. Attendees will have the opportunity to plant vegetables and gain insights on how to cultivate their own garden at home. In addition, an agriculture and conservation trivia wheel will be spun, with exciting prizes up for grabs.

Entertainment

No festival is complete without music and storytelling. As the sun dips behind the horizon, sit back and enjoy live music performances and captivating storytelling sessions. It’s the perfect way to end a day packed with activities, food, and learning.
