We continue with our posts showcasing the top five stories on 1812Blockhouse in terms of number of readers in 2022.

As we shared previously, we recently sat down with spreadsheets and charts to identify the most-read posts. The results did not surprise us, but did show a continued interest in local stories on new and closing businesses and other local economic news.

These stories are presented in chronological order. We shared two earlier in the week, two more yesterday, and our final post we share today.

The last post among the top five is one in a regular series here on 1812Blockhouse.

We have now shared almost 60 posts in our Landmarks of Mansfield and Landmarks of Richland series. Theses stories, which focus on individual houses, buildings, downtowns, and pieces of public art that are part of our shared heritage. This includes not only information about who owned or built the structure, but also how that building fits into the history of local architecture.

In late December, we re-posted about the the Kern House on Park Avenue West. Long appreciated by local residents from an aesthetic point of view, the house was built by a very successful businessman – owner of a local cigar company.
