Kindergarten registration for the 2017-18 school year will begin on Feb. 7 throughout Mansfield City Schools. Children must be 5 years old by Aug. 1.

Registration will be based on residents’ addresses at Prospect Elementary School, 485 Gilbert Ave.; Sherman Elementary School, 1138 Springmill Road, and Woodland Elementary School, 60 Davis Road.

Kindergarten registration is open to all residents at the Spanish Immersion School, 240 Euclid Ave., or Springmill STEM Elementary School, 1200 Nestor Dr.. A parent or guardian must register their child for kindergarten at the elementary school their child will attend. Anyone not sure of their home school may call the Raemelton administration building at 419-525-6400, ext. 56471 for assistance.

The following documents will be required at registration: child’s birth certificate, immunization record, Social Security number, copy of custody papers if applicable and proof of residency (U.S. mail, utility bill or rental agreement).

Registration dates and times are:

Tuesday, Feb. 7 – 9:30 AM-1:30 PM and 4:00 PM-7:00 PM during parent-teacher conferences.

Wednesday, Feb. 8 – 9:30 AM-2:30 PM

Thursday, Feb. 9 – 9:30 AM-2:30 PM

Tuesday, Feb. 14 – 9:30 AM-2:30 PM

Wednesday, Feb. 15 – 9:30 AM-2:30 PM

Thursday, Feb. 16 – 9:30 AM-2:30 PM and 4:30 PM-7:30 PM during parent-teacher conferences.

Kindergarten screening will be on May 17 and 18. All children entering kindergarten in Ohio are screened for vision, hearing, speech and communication, medical problems and any developmental disorders. Screening results do not affect a child’s eligibility to enter kindergarten.
