Mansfield City Schools changed its schedule for all grades for the week beginning on Monday, October 5. In a statement on their website, the District shared the following:

“On Thursday,  October 1, Richland County Public Health announced that the county’s risk to COVID-19 had been elevated to Red, or Level 3 and that the county had been placed on the Watch List.

Because of this, beginning Monday, October 5, Mansfield City Schools will return to two in-person learning days  and two at home remote learning days. No students will be in  session on Wednesday, October 7.

Students will attend based on their assignment to the Tyger or Falcon cohort. Students of Tyger Digital Academy will continue Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at home.

Richland County has hit six out of seven indicators for exposure. In order to protect the health and safety of our staff, teachers and students, we feel this is the best measure to be taken at this time. Should Richland county’s exposure level change, we will notify our community immediately.

It is our strong desire to increase in person learning days when less indicators are triggered on the Health Advisory System, even if we are still an overall Red.

Thank you for your understanding and flexibility to move quickly when updates arise.”

The Tyger Cohort will have in person instruction on Monday and Tuesday, then remote learning on Thursday and Friday. The reverse is true for members of the Falcon Cohort — remote on Monday and Tuesday and in person instruction on Thursday and Friday. Again, there will be no school for any student on Wednesday, October 7.
