Mansfield’s premier venue for live entertainment, the Renaissance Theatre, formally announced the lineup for its 2020-21 season, RENEW Your Passion, at a Season Preview LIVE Online event Friday evening.

The event began with Condrea Webber revisiting her role as Etta James from At Last: An Evening with Etta James by singing “Something’s Got a Hold on Me” with The Etta James Trio. A special free performance of At Last: An Evening with Etta James will be held outside the Renaissance on Saturday, June 27 at 7:30 PM. This performance is sponsored by Richland County Foundation,

Mike Miller introduced the Lind Media Cinema Series. Movies to be shown at the Renaissance will be The Rocky Horror Picture Show on October 31, Polar Express in December, Mary Poppins in February, and Singin’ in the Rain in April. In addition, he noted the upcoming series called “The Ren Backlot” which will feature outdoor concerts and films throughout the summer.

Executive Vice-President of  Mechanics Bank, Debbie Adams, announced the Mechanics Bank Education Series. The Renaissance Youth Opera Theatre will present Kiss Me, Kate on February 6 and 7, and Singin’ in the Rain on May 29 and 30. MY Theatre will present Tarzan on September 18-20 and Godspell on March 25-28. MY Theatre will also have special sensory-friendly showings of each production. The Mansfield Symphony Youth Orchestra and Youth Strings ensembles will have concerts in the Fall, at the Holidays in December, and in the Spring.

Jerry Morasko, President and CEO of Avita Health System, announced the Avita Innovation Concert Series. On April 9, 2021, the popular group Kashmir: The Live Led Zeppelin Experience will perform, and on May 8, a true rock-n-roll battle will take place with Beatles vs. Stones: A Musical Showdown. The Avita Innovation series will also have concerts in The Ren Backlot series starting with “Just Jazz Live” on Friday, June 12 at 9:00 PM.

Vincen Yates, President of OhioHealth Mansfield and Shelby, introduced the OhioHealth Symphony Series.  In October, patrons will be able to experience “Mash-up” which features the singing competition where the audience decides the winner, as well as “SingOut,” the collaboration between area high school choirs and the Mansfield Symphony Chorus. The ever-popular “Holiday Pops” concert will take place in December, and in February “The Titan,” which is a side-by-side concert with the Mansfield Symphony Youth Orchestra. In March the symphony will showcase the music of Leonard Bernstein’s masterpiece West Side Story and the season will end with a concert including the Mansfield Symphony Chorus performing Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana.

Introducing the Park National Bank Broadway Series were Chris Hiner, President of Park National Bank, and Stephanie Blanchard, Community Relations Coordinator.  Highlights from this season led by Michael Thomas, Artistic Director, will be Cinderella: The Broadway Musical in July and August, Cabaret in October, The Sound of Music in November, Titanic: The Musical in January, Little Shop of Horrors in March, and Assassins in April.

Subscriptions are 25% off the single ticket price and with membership, 30% off. Single tickets go on sale for members on July 1 and for the public on July 21.
