It’s going to be a busy start of the week for the City of Mansfield.
On Monday, in accord with the new Stay-at-Home Order issued by the State of Ohio, the Mansfield Municipal Building will open to the public for the first time in over a month. In a news release shared on Friday by Public Works Director David Remy, it was announced that the building would reopen on what was termed “soft conditions.” Those conditions include the following:
- The first floor will remain open for Police Department contact.
- Access to the building for other purposes will take place only through the second floor (ground level) Park Avenue East entrance. Court facilities will be accessible on that floor; those wishing to visit other areas must take the second floor elevators.
- All exiting will take place via the exterior doors just off the elevators to the Park Avenue East parking lot.
- Scheduling appointments in advance is recommended as not all employees will be working from the building.
- All State directives will be observed by employees, including the wearing of face masks when interacting with the public.
- All areas will be regularly sanitized and social distancing will be observed.
The lobby and drive thru window at the Utility Collections office will also be open, though those entering the building must be wearing a face covering.
On Tuesday, Mansfield City Council will hold two committee meetings as well as its caucus and regular meetings. Among other pieces of legislation, the Agenda includes the measures which would:
- Accept funding from the Ohio Office of Criminal Justice Services in the amount of $240,640.74 for drug investigation equipment and supplies for the METRICH task force.
- Perform two transfers of funds for computer equipment in the total amount of $13,700
- Authorize creation of a Community Reinvestment Area “CRA” that would cover most property in the corporation limits of Mansfield. This proposed program was covered in our recent story on the most recent meeting of the Mansfield City Schools Board of Education, which can be accessed here.
- Authorize the sale of two parcels of land in the general area of 500 North Main Street, one 18.29 acres in size being sold to 500 N Main Mansfield, LLC for $130,000, and the other a .369 acre lot to Wayne Sanchez.
The Finance Committee begins at 6:35 PM, with the Economic Development Committee following at 6:45 PM. The other meetings will follow. Each will be livestreamed on the City of Mansfield Facebook Page.
