A fifth identified COVID-19/Coronavirus infection has resulted in additional action taken Thursday afternoon by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, including closing Ohio’s public schools for three weeks.

The infection, which came about by “community spread,” was reported in Trumbull County. This amount is expected to increase in the coming days.

Actions announced today by DeWine include the following:

  • Beginning on Monday afternoon through April 3, all Ohio K-12 schools will be closed.
  • Effective immediately, all gatherings of 100 or more people will be banned statewide. This does not include religious gatherings, grocery stores, weddings, funerals, or athletic events at which no spectators are present.
  • Visitation at nursing homes will be curtailed.

Local cancellations and closings are also taking place; these will be included,  as well as additional information on the Governor’s actions, on our COVID-19/Coronavirus Update page.
