It’s even more cool to be a Whippet these days.

In the past few weeks, Shelby City Schools has been updating and expanding its social media footprint. This includes both general posts from the school district as well as those from its athletic department.

The change is part of a coordinated effort by Shelby Schools to maximize communication with parents and the community. The following description of the changes appear on the district website:

“We are excited to share with you that, as we move swiftly into the second half of the school year, we will be making a change with our social media presence. This step will help us provide the best digital experience for our community by enabling quick, consistent and proactive communication while celebrating our incredible school district as a whole!

To ensure you don’t miss a thing, we invite you to LIKE and FOLLOW our NEW district Facebook page as soon as you can by visiting https://www.facebook.com/shelbywhippets/. Please note, all of our active Twitter and Instagram accounts for the individual buildings will remain in place. We do invite you to FOLLOW the district accounts on those platforms as well by visiting: Shelby City Schools (@shelbywhippets) and Shelby Whippets (@shelbywhippets)

We will continue to use email, our district website and text alerts to share and gather school-specific information and resources. Please continue to reference these communication platforms as needed.”

Tweets from Shelby Schools appear regularly in Richland Tweets on 1812Blockhouse.
