The annual Child Safety Identification Program “Safe Surfin” will be held at the Center Court at Richland Mall on February 22, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This event is hosted by the City of Mansfield in collaboration with the Lexington Moose Lodge #2511, and will include representatives from the 179th Air National Guard Unit, the Mansfield Correctional Institute, and local and federal law enforcement agencies.

The event is free. Officers will put the child’s information, fingerprints and pictures on a CD (disc) to give to the parents for safe keeping. No information on the child is kept by the officers or any other agencies. Children of all ages are welcome to participate in the event. There will also be a police K-9 present to do demonstrations throughout the event.

The community is encouraged to come out and meet the officers who protect and serve Richland County on a daily basis. If anyone has questions, they may contact Sargent Jon Ahles of the Mansfield Division of Police at 419-755-9740.

Send us your news — of an announcement, event,
club news, fundraiser – whatever! It’s easy to do online.
