The City of Mansfield Fire Department took delivery of a new Pierce Velocity Ascendant Aerial fire truck this week.

The delivery was made from Finley Fire Equipment, which is based in McConnelsville, Ohio. According to its social media sites, the company was founded in 1972 and represents Pierce, Crestline, and other emergency vehicles. It has more that 85 employees, many of whom are actually current or former firefighters.

An aerial is used in more risky situations, and gives the firemen and women greater flexibility to address an emergency. The ladder can rise to give the responders more height, as well as the ability to versatility of a wider horizontal reach.
