A Mansfield attraction gained some international notoriety this month. Fitting, given what month it is.

When the venerable magazine Architectural Digest set out to create a list of the world’s creepiest places to visit, they decided to include a place you know quite well.

Architectural Digest bills itself as “…the interntional design authority, featuring the works of top architects and designers, as well as the best in style, culture, and design.” Founded in 1920, it also publishes in China, France, Germany, Russia, Spain, Mexico, and Latin America.

In a feature story dated October 18 entitled, “9 Creepiest Places You Should Probably Never Visit: From an abandoned asylum to a church adorned with human skulls, these sites are not for the faint of heart,” writer Kristine Hansen had this to share about the Ohio State Reformatory – one of only two American sites featured:

“Legend says that it’s haunted, a convincing notion as plenty of inmates died during their sentences—and they just might still be roaming the halls here.”

True to the title, it is a remarkably creepy set of places to visit.

Congrats to the folks at OSR!
