Board of Education President Renda Cline will represent Mansfield City Schools at the annual business meeting of the Ohio School Boards Association (OSBA) Delegate Assembly on Nov. 14. The delegate session will occur during the 61st annual OSBA Capital Conference at Trade Show Nov. 13-16 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center.

Several other Mansfield board members and administrators will participate in the conference.

Ms. Cline and other voting delegates from more than 600 other public school boards from around the state will consider the OSBA legislative platform, a comprehensive document that defines OSBA’s views and goals on a wide spectrum of education issues. “I am looking forward to exchanging views and ideas with other board members throughout Ohio during the delegate meeting and the Capital Conference,” Ms. Cline said. “This is an excellent opportunity to discuss key issues facing public schools.”

Ms. Cline is vice chairwoman of the OSBA Black Caucus and a member of the OSBA Regional Executive Committee. Both of those groups also will meet on Nov. 14.

More than 9,000 people are expected to attend this year’s conference, which features nearly 150 sessions of panel discussions, workshops and nationally renowned speakers addressing a variety of educational issues. Keynote speakers include actor and activist Ernie Hudson (“Ghostbusters”), actor and school board member Steven Michael Quezada (“Breaking Bad”) and Emmy Award-winning journalist Leeza Gibbons.
