Members of the Mansfield Senior High Class of 2019 paraded through each of the district’s schools Thursday morning to the cheers and applause of students and staff who lined the hallways.

For most, the annual walkthrough was a nostalgic return to the elementary and intermediate buildings they once attended.

“They’ve been talking about that,” said Dr. Milton Folson, Senior High principal, who accompanied the group with assistant principal Robert McQuate.

Two busloads of soon-to-be-graduates attired in caps and gowns rolled out of Senior High at 8 a.m., stopping first at Malabar Intermediate School. From there, they moved on to Prospect, then Woodland, Sherman, Springmill STEM and Spanish Immersion before wrapping up their tour in the halls of Mansfield Middle School.

The annual Class Day was scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday. Awards and postsecondary scholarships will be announced.

Commencement will begin at 10 AM on Saturday in Senior High’s Pete Henry Gymnasium. One hundred and fifty graduates will receive their diplomas.
