The National Alliance of Mental Illness of Richland County is pleased to invite the public to the following events:
Monday, February 18 – A family support group is being offered for family members of those with mental illness for a time of support, connection, and great speakers.
Jill Waite, LPCC-S from Brookrun Counseling will be speaking on Trauma and EMDR (eye movement, desensitization, and reprocessing).
The event will take place from 6:30 to 8 PM at the Richland County Board of Mental Health office located at 87 East First Street in Mansfield.
Thursday, March 7 – The first in a free 11-week Family to Family Education Program class which is structured to help caregivers understand and support adult individuals with serious mental illness while maintaining their own well being. Classes include diagnosis, medications, suicide prevention, how to advocate, what to do in crisis, care for the caregiver, etc.
These classes are every Thursday from 6:00-8:30 PM at the Richland County Board of Mental Health office. Registration is REQUIRED for attendance. Please register by calling the NAMI office at 419-522-6264.
Monday, March 18 – Is offering this family support group for family members of those with mental illness for a time of support, connection, and great speakers! We will meet from 6:30-8 PM. The speaker is Carrie Lenehan speaking on Art and Mental Health. This will also be at the Richland County Board of Mental Health office on First Street in Mansfield.
