As one attendee shared on social media after Sunday night’s Festival Evensong at Mansfield’s Grace Episcopal Church, “It was a step back in time. I loved the sanctuary, the atmosphere, and the music.”

The event was both an opportunity to hear choral music by British and American classical composers, as well as a benefit for Mid Ohio Opera. Members of the opera troupe sang works by Handel, Vivaldi, Tallis, Vaughn Williams and others, accompanied by Grace organist Lee Singleton. Singers included Joel Vega, Heidi Kirschenheister Vega, Lori Turner, and William Johnson.

The evening’s officiant was The Reverend David Bargetzi, Rector of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Cleveland, assisted by Grace Church Rector, The Reverend Joe Ashby.
