We continue with our posts showcasing the top five stories on 1812Blockhouse in terms of number of readers in 2022.

As we shared previously, we recently sat down with spreadsheets and charts to identify the most-read posts. The results did not surprise us, but did show a continued interest in local stories on new and closing businesses and other local economic news.

These stories are presented in chronological order. We shared two yesterday, are adding two today, and there will be one final post on Friday. Our first post can be read here.

In the middle of summer, we turned our attention to high school sports. Our story about the upcoming season for Mansfield Senior drew a large number of readers on July 22. Mansfield Senior Annonuces 2022 Football Schedule, Student Section Themes was a ahead at a new season for Tyger football and the creative themes for each week of the 2022 slate.

Locals know well about the wide variety of attractions and activities available to see and to experience in the Mansfield area. Several of these were included in our popular post titledMansfield: Where Roots Run Deep And Wide.” This August 15 feature, which in turn featured a post from our friends at Destination Mansfield – Richland County, began this way:

Mansfield is a place whose personality, present and future, cannot be separated from its past. To truly know this city, you must first get acquainted with its history because Mansfield’s roots run deep and wide.

Mansfield is the heart of Richland County and home to both a literal and metaphorical wellspring — a city that sprang up from nothing but forested wilderness on the American frontier.”
