Believe it or not, but it appears to be our eighth Christmas here at 1812Blockhouse.

Change has been the operative word in 2023 – both for the world as a whole, for Richland County, and for this news site. As we join with our own friends and family for the holidays, we are going to step back a bit, share some favorites with our readers, and add a bit of something new. After all, who doesn’t like a present at this time of the year?

Between now and Christmas Eve on Sunday, we’re going to re-post a handful of our seasonal favorites, including our annual post “Louis Bromfield and Christmas” and look backs at previous editions of Christmas at Kingwood.

To maximize family time, we will be operating as normal through Saturday.  We will update Richland News from Elsewhere, but otherwise we will not be posting again until Tuesday morning, the day after Christmas.

If there is important breaking local news during that period of time, we will do our best to get online and update the site.

For the remainder of next week, we will be including a retrospective on the most-read 1812Blockhouse stories of 2023.

In the meantime, Merry Christmas from our house to yours!

Send us your news — of an announcement, event,
club news, fundraiser – whatever! It’s easy to do online.
