On Friday, officials were on hand for a ribbon cutting at The Woodsman Disc Golf Court in Ontario’s Marshall Park.

Over the last several weeks, concrete pads, sponsored signs, landscaping, and more have been added to the part, already considered one of the best in the state.

The course was launched in 2016 and is known for its challenging nature as it sits in a heavily wooded area. One hole is actually fifteen feet high and is positioned between two trees.

Disc golf as a game dates to the early part of the last century, and the first actual recorded game took place in Saskatchewan, Canada in 1927. It has grown exponentially in popularity over the last several years, with over 70,000 members of the Professional Disc Golf Association worldwide in 2020.

The local course has 18 holes, with two under 300 feet in length, 13 between 300 and 400 feet, and 3 over 400 feet.

Last year we ran an article about various disc golf courses in the area, The Woodsman included. It can be found below.
