To welcome the competitive spirit of volleyball enthusiasts this winter, the Ohio Social Sports presents its highly anticipated Competitive Volleyball Winter League. This event promises to deliver high-energy 6 v 6 games every Tuesday evening, starting from January 2 through February 27, at the Dewald Community Center of the Salvation Army and other local facilities as needed.

A League of Its Own: Structure and Schedule

The league, kicking off in the heart of winter, comprises eight regular season games followed by an exciting playoff for the top-seeded teams. This format ensures that teams have ample opportunity to showcase their skills, develop team dynamics, and vie for the championship title. The games, scheduled between 6:00 PM and 10:00 PM, cater to working individuals, offering a perfect blend of competition and camaraderie post-work hours.

Team Formation and Registration

A key highlight of the league is its inclusive team roster format. Players must be 18 years or older, and teams are required to maintain a gender-inclusive environment with at least one player of each gender on the court at any given time. The minimum team size is four players, ensuring that each game is competitive and engaging.

The registration process is thoughtfully designed to accommodate all interested players, regardless of whether they come solo, in small groups, or as a full team. Free agents can sign up individually and be placed on teams needing players, while small groups of 2-5 can join and be supplemented with additional players to form a complete team. Full teams of four or more players are also encouraged to register, bringing their collective energy to the league.

Venue and Costs

The primary venue, the Dewald Community Center at 47 S Main St. in Mansfield is a central location, accessible to all participants. The registration fee of $65 includes not just the nine competitive refereed games, but also a team Dri-Fit T-shirt and photos of teams and games – adding value to the player’s experience.

More Information and How to Register

For detailed information and to register, participants can visit Ohio Social Sports. Registration is expected to close 4-5 days before the season start date, so interested players and teams are encouraged to sign up quickly.
