Malabar Farm State Park has always been a place for family, fun, and connection to nature. This August, however, the park is taking its offerings to the next level with a series of engaging and immersive experiences that promises a month of joy, exploration, and learning.

Farm Fridays: A Family Tradition

Farm Fridays are a staple at Malabar Farm, and this August they’re back with more excitement. Every Friday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, families are welcomed at the Main Barn beside the Big House to take part in fun-filled activities. Whether you’re a farming enthusiast or simply seeking a unique family day out, Farm Fridays offer something special for everyone – and they’re free to attend.

Creeks, Critters, and Nature’s Canvas

On August 12, nature lovers can join one of Malabar Farm’s expert Naturalists for a Critter Hike in the Creek. This guided adventure promises an exciting encounter with frogs, salamanders, crayfish, and much more. Perfect for the curious and adventurous at heart!

On the same day, the park offers Nature Doodling at the Pugh Cabin. Preregistration is required for this creative experience, where attendees can explore their artistic sides through doodling inspired by nature’s beauty.

Guided Adventures and Creative Crafting

August 19 brings Crafts with Mother Nature, a delightful event for children to go on a short hike and craft with items found in nature. It’s a hands-on learning experience where creativity meets environmental education.

The Guided Hike on August 26 offers a trek through some of the most picturesque trails at Malabar Farm, guided by an experienced park ranger. It’s a chance to explore new paths, learn about unique trail features, and connect with nature like never before.

Dancing in the Barn

Finally, don’t miss the Bromfield tradition of the Barn Dance, also on on August 26th. Held in the Main Barn from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM, this lively event invites everyone to come and dance the night away. It’s a celebration of community, heritage, and the simple joys of life.

August at Malabar Farm is a celebration of nature, community, and the shared experiences that make life rich and fulfilling. So pack a picnic, bring the family, and make this August a month to remember at Malabar Farm. Whether you’re a seasoned visitor or a first-timer, the doors are always open, and adventure awaits.
