Children in grades K-8 can choose from several day camps this summer, sponsored by The Ohio State University at Mansfield Education: Teaching and Learning. Camps include:

June 12-16 – Gardening Camp. The basics of organic gardening, investigating soil, mulch, bed prepping, weeds, insects, and vegetable production. Open air team gardening.

Grades K-3, 9:00 AM to Noon
Grades 4-6, 1 to 4:00 PM.

June 12-16 – Leadership Camp. Students will learn about the characteristics of a good leader through hands-on activities including communicating with confidence, taking responsibility, solving problems creatively, managing conflict well, and leading from our strengths

Grades 5-8, 9:00 AM to Noon

June 19-23 – Math Camp. Working within their grade levels, students will experience inside and outdoor activities that connect math to play and investigation. The theme is gardening: growing a field of mathematicians. We will discover how to plant, feed, and harvest mathematical ideas!

Grades K-6, 9:00 AM to Noon

July 10-14 – Young Writers Camp. Do you love writing? Do you love the outdoors? In our writer’s workshop camp, young writers will have opportunities to write in multiple genres while utilizing our outdoor classroom. An interdisciplinary approach will benef it students and strengthen writing skills through mini lessons, mentor tex t s, conferring, independent writing, and sharing. Mentor texts will get the writers out of the classroom and immersed in nature.

Grades 3-6, 9:00 AM to Noon

July 24-28 – Drama Camp.

K-3 Drama Camp – Learn beginning theatre skills, beginning improvisation, monologue/dialogue performance, and team building – all through fun, interactive activities!

4 – 8 Drama Camp – Learn theatre skills, improvisation, monologue/dialogue performance, and team building – all through fun, interactive activities

Grades K-3, 9:00 AM to Noon
Grades 4-8, 1:00 PM, to 4:00 PM
