Three student productions  will be performed at The Ohio State University at Mansfield this coming academic year.

Near the end of September, the Theatre Department is presenting “Connected” by Lia Romeo. In a series of interrelated short stories, this is a funny, heartbreakingly real look at love and friendship in the age of socia media. Broadway World said of the play, “”A fascinating look at the cyber world we live in today . . . Romeo’s work plays out in four vignettes, all of which touch on themes of loneliness and deception. Alternately amusing and heart-breaking . . . an engaging work.”

Connected comes to Founders Auditorium on September 27, 28, and 30 at 7:30 PM, and September 29 at 2:30 PM. It is produced by arrangement with Playscripts, Inc.

Also coming this season will be “The Beauty Queen of Leenane” by Martin McDonagh, an award-willing play set in the Irish countryside performed during the last week of October. Next spring will see “Back to the Divine Comedy,” an extraordinary opportunity to experience the world premiere of a new rock opera, straight from Italy. More on that to come.

Ticket information for Connected is available here.
